Had the same thing happen using a Trophy Taker A-Tac back in the day. Perfectly broadside, longer shot on an elk, hit in the perfect spot but the arrow deflected straight back through one lung and liver. The only thing that I could come up with was that the angle of the blades are so steep that it just touched a rib and caused the deflection. The angle of the SEVR hybrid is very steep much like the old A-TAC.
